Black Friday should be a blast

- Brent Graham

Black Friday may have originated in the US, but it has taken off in SA in a big way. Good news for sports bettors is that bookmakers also embrace the spirit of Black Friday, and there will be loads of great offers out there to take advantage of tomorrow.

This week traditionally sneaks up on me and before I know it, Friday has passed and I’ve missed many specials. This year I decided to be better prepared and have cleaned out my accounts ready to fire when I see a great offer.

World Sports Betting have taken the pressure off by allowing their Black Friday promotion to run the full week until Monday, 30 November.

They will match your deposit, up to a maximum of R20 000 in free bets. What this means is if you deposit a R1 000, they will credit your account with R1 000 in free bets.

Bets placed will have to be at odds of 5/10 or better and you will need to wager five times the value of the bonus before you can withdraw from your account.

It is an excellent offer, but don’t make the mistake of depositing money you may need to draw urgently.

Most Black Friday bonuses will only be available tomorrow and sometimes at specific hours so keep a close eye on the website.

This year we are making things a bit easier by starting a thread on the Goodforthegame forum, where punters can advise each other as to where the best specials are and also discuss things like terms and conditions which can on occasions be onerous.

Don’t get carried away by the promotions – and if you are a R100 punter, then make your deposit accordingly. Do not put yourself under pressure to play big.

There is plenty of great rugby this weekend, including the Currie Cup, Autumn Nations Cup and Argentina vs New Zealand, where I am expecting a strong bounceback by the All Blacks, who are currently 17 point favourites.
