Duric looks set for another good day at Kranji
We welcomed Vlad Duric back to racing last weekend and with 2020 Champion Apprentice Simon Kok back in saddle on Sunday, 2021 has resumed normal services.
Both jockeys have thousands of faithful followers and in troubled times, the presence of both Kok and Duric cannot be underestimated.
But while Vlad knocked in two winners on his return, Simon Kok will need some luck to get back into the winners’ circle with perhaps MILITARY CHAIRMAN (Race 1) his best chance.
On the other hand, Duric has excellent winning chances in most races and if the four-time Champion brings his “A-game” on Sunday, three, four or even five winners would not surprise.
It’s never that easy but ASAAD looks very hard to beat in Race 6 and PATTAYA in the lucky last is overdue to win again and the Duric drive will be on show.
Elsewhere on the card, the pressure is mounting on Jerlyn Seow - now 16 rides into her career without winning - but the only female in the Singapore Jockey ranks has been very close on occasions and EXCELLING in Race 9 can get the monkey off her back.
The seven-year-old gelding looked to have issues last start, so a tongue-tie added on the back of a slick trial looks a winning move and hopefully can be the first of many for the promising Seow.
