High noon for High Moon

HOPEFUL: BASS' ROBINSON RUNNER LOOKING TO END FRUSTRATING RUN OF SECONDS

-

Marcus can score again on Capitana in Race 6.

Can High Moon finally end his frustrating run of seconds and make his way to the winner’s enclosure at Kenilworth tomorrow? Jockey Aldo Domeyer and Candice-Bass Robinson must be tearing their hair out with this son of Silvano as he has been well supported in his last four runs, only to find something to beat him.

For punters who have climbed into take the 7-10 about him (the price he started for his last three races) they are now tapped out their closest ATM machine. The bookmakers, of course, have been enjoying oysters and caviar for breakfast.

Now they ae trying something new and bringing him back to 1400m in Race 3, a Maiden Plate. The question to be answered is whether they have realised something about him or is this the last act of a desperate trainer and jockey?

Well, let’s hope it is the former and High Moon finally can crack a win. The bad news is, if case you haven’t guessed it – bookmakers have priced him up at – 7-10, of course.

A more interesting race comes up in Race 6 where Anton Marcus partners Capitana in a MR 100 Handicap over 1400m for fillies and mares.

The four-year-old daughter of Captain Al tries 1400m for the first time but n breeding she should have no issue with the trip.

Marcus is in top form, and the combination same combination who are involved in this horse – Marcus, trainer Brett Crawford and owners Ridgemont, had great success in the Grade 1 Cape Flying Championship with Run Fox Run.

Capitana did get a 4kg penalty for her last win but she showed her class when running Clouds Unfold to 0.50 lengths over 1200m in her penultimate run and that penalty should not trouble her unduly.

She carries just 55kg so as long as she gets the distance, the weight should not trouble her. Capitana has raced just seven times for four wins and three places, and Marcus has ridden her to three of those win
