FEW RUNAWAY WINS IN COLOMBIAN PRIMERA A

-

A survey by the CIES Football Observatory, comparing 72 top-tier leagues worldwide in terms of how many games were won by three or more goals, has found that the lowest proportion of such matches was recorded in the Colombian Primera A. There just five out of 126 (4%) games had such wide winning margins. At the opposite end of the table is the Solomon Islands top division with 41 uneven games out of 110 (37.3%). More than one fifth of both the Austrian (23.5%) and German Bundesliga (20.9%) matches ended with at least a three-goal gap. These are much higher percentages than the average of 14.5% for the 72 leagues. The Spanish La Liga (11.4%) is the only one of the five major European leagues in which the proportion of uneven fixtures were far lower than the global average. The contrary holds true for the French Ligue 1 (15%), the English Premier League (17.2%) and the Italian Serie A (17.7%).
