NFT artist’s Boseman tribute work opens doors to possibilities

- Citizen reporter

NFT 3D artist Andre Oshea and Black NFT Art are pleased to announce A Young Boy’s Dream, a revision of Tribute: Chadwick in Gold, originally commissioned for the Oscars’ Everyone Wins Nominee Gift Bag by Nomine (Eth).

The NFT action will support the Colon Cancer Foundation, with 50% of the proceeds pledged to fund their invaluable work.

The special edition artwork will be auctioned on MakersPlace from the 14th-16th, and will honour the life and accomplishments of Chadwick Boseman.

The artwork depicts a young black boy walking in wonderment through the spirit realm, inspired by Boseman’s seminal role in Black Panther.

Each altar he passes is a tribute to a different accomplishment or role in Boseman’s life.

The accomplishments come to life with movement and sound effects as the young boy walks past.

Andre Oshea said: “My focus when creating this piece was centered around the environment. Creating a world that’s filled with wonderment, legacy and soul.

“It was important to me that this piece felt more like a celebration and education of what one can do when they believe in theircreative abilities.

“Chadwick has set an example for black creatives of all generations, and we should carry his torch with us.”

The achievements depicted in the animation are: James Brown role; Thurgood Marshall role; Jackie Robinson Role; His wedding; Howard University graduation; Levee Green Role (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom).

Oshea is a 28-year-old 3D generalist and animator, who explores themes of futurism andsurrealism in his work, with a recurring futuristic figure of a black woman, and suspended objects encased in his rendered new worlds.

Uncovering new dimensions of possibilities through his immersive world-building artworks, Oshea allows us to reimagine new opportunities instead of impossibilities.

He is represented by Black NFT Art, an NFT creative agency founded by Iris Nevins and Omar Desire. Black NFT Art empowers black artists in the NFT space, and offers a sense of community and support. In April this year, Oshea partnered with Netflix and the Grammy winningproducer Illmind, to produce special edition NFT drops.
