A DOSE OF LAUGHTER: VIRTUAL COMEDY BAR RETURNS THIS MONDAY Let a star-studded line-up and a number of rising comedians entertain you.

Have a belly laugh every Monday when South African Film and Television Awards-nominated Comedy Central Live at the Savanna Virtual Comedy Bar returns on Comedy Central.

The series, which kicks off at 10pm on Monday on DStv channel 122, will feature a star-studded line up of legendary South African comedians as well as some of the most talented rising comics.

The star-studded line-up will be headlined by the likes of Tumi Morake, Nina Hastie, Trevor Gumbi and Nik Rabinowitz, amongst others.

Rising stars will include talented Tyson Ngubeni, seasoned presenter Farieda Metsileng, hilarious Sihle Vezi and

Lurdes Laice, to name a few.

The innovative virtual comedy bar was developed by premium cider Savanna as a means of supporting SA’s comedy industry during the level 5 lockdown.

The brand joined forces with Comedy Central, which refined a Comedy Central Live format.

Its first season in a virtual setting was broadcast in October last year.

The show was an instant hit and has been nominated for Best Variety Show at the 2021 premium cider South African Film and Television Awards.

A famous comedian headlines a segment in each episode that will focus on different themes, ranging from love, to politics and lockdown.

Each episode will also feature a rising fan favourite.

Comedy Central Africa vice-president Dillon Khan said: “The first season of Comedy Central Live at the Savanna Virtual Comedy Bar outperformed our expectations and has affirmed the love South Africans have for local comedic talent.
