Compelling reasons not to knock anti-vaxxers

Don’t disregard what thousands of virologists, scientists and doctors warn against, writes Per Ardua.

Israel was always going to be an interesting Covid case study as it was first out of the gate and now boasts 80% of its population fully vaccinated. It was the envy of other nations. Pro-vaxxers cannot be comforted by data coming out of Israel now. It is logging the highest infection rates in the world with 650 new cases daily and reports that 60% of gravely ill patients have been fully vaccinated.

David O’Connor, a viral sequencing expert at University of Wisconsin, Madison, says: “Israel represents the best data coming out anywhere in the world. It is a working experimental lab for us to work from.”

He goes on “do not think that boosters are the solution”.

The lesson here is not to treat anti-vaxxers as pariahs or lepers. Never disregard what thousands of virologists, scientists and doctors warn against.

As time goes by, there is more and more compelling evidence that the vaxxers may have been better off eating ice cream.
