With Galaxy 3 5G you can take selfies without touching your phone.

Getting your hands on a coveted piece of technology is always the best feeling. This applies to digital and cellular devices with a difference.

This week we take a look at the must-have tech devices that fit into daily living. I tracked down two devices that, when tethered together, make your life easier.

The new device for selfie takes is the new Samsung Galaxy 3 5G, the latest in android technology that comes in various colours to match your other accessories.

Is it as strong to withstand all the flipping it will receive being open and shut all day?

The answer is yes. The manufacturers have claimed that the screen is 80% more durable than the previous flips, making it strong and sturdy, even with dropping.

Part of the expense is the price of the screen with Gorilla Victus glass. I dropped it enough times to know it takes a lot to break.

It also seems to be very resistant to scratching, especially appealing to anyone who isn’t a fan of rubbery phone covers if you can just stick to the original.

The body of the phone is made of aluminium and the front panel is protected with what seems to be double the amount of glass. So you’re welcome to flip the phone open and shut as much as you like. It’s said that you will get around 2 000 000 folds in five years.

Ok, so the phone looks cute and flips open, so what’s special about it?

There are a few things that make the device practical for daily living. It has a mode called flex mode for people who love to snap a selfie while still working on something else. Flex mode allows you to fold both your screens, put your phone down and take selfies without touching the phone at all. It senses your movement and you can direct the phone to take pictures with hand signals or voice commands.

This is good for family photoshoots or group shots that need everyone in the picture.

Something very sexy is being able to take pictures when the phone is closed, while still being able to see a preview of your images and set them as your screen lock images.

The most fun part of this is being able to change your visuals daily.

You can change animations, clock style, and watch face if you own a watch and you can control your music, skip and play songs without opening your phone.

For the avid content creator, multi-window flex mode remains the ultimate option, being able to operate two apps at the same time with the screen folded, these being compatible apps.

It’s pretty self-explanatory but more fun to see in person. The top screen can have one visual while the bottom screen has another and these are interchangeable.

If you’re editing visuals, you can enjoy something else at the

bottom. It’s having two phones which starts to partly justify the price.

Tik Tok and moving gifs are part of a content creator’s life and hypers lapse and night hyper-lapse features give that editor’s touch.

It allows the photographer to take fast slow or super speed images edit them and create a quick video, with animation and emojis, which can all be saved in different modes and uploaded in less than an hour.

Making short videos and reels can be done anywhere by anyone of any age without an editor’s suite.

Ever heard of smart jewellery?

Bellabeat is a new sort of sassy wear-it-around-your-neck accessory that helps women track, improve and manage their health.

There are those who enjoy the heavier feel of a smartwatch, while others who work-out like the feel of something less cumbersome but just as effective with giving health statistics.

This is when a sleek and sexy little smart device like the Bellabesat fits in perfectly. It’s slowly gaining traction in South Africa as more and more women get to experience its benefits.

I discovered it online looking for a health tracker as I was having issues upgrading my smart watch and haven’t looked back since. At first glance, it looks like a bracelet or chain but it helps monitor a lot of key medical aspects of your life, including your mood and menstrual cycle.

The device of your choosing is the water bottle or the bracelet is tethered to your phone. The wearer would click on it activate after answering a few health questions and you’re good to go with daily to hourly health updates, even motivational morning quotes.

A sleep pattern monitor checks out everything – from sleep tracking to menstrual cycle tracking, fertility predictions, and guided meditation. The makers say that Bella beat has 2.5 million users worldwide and has been around for seven years.

The beauty of it is it’s pleasing to the eye; looks like a sexy piece of jewellery, isn’t a lot of work when it comes to maintenance and charging and hardly anyone will know what it is.

The only change needed is to change the battery after four months.

The water bottle accessory calculates how much water you drink and encourages you to develop more healthy drinking habits.

There accessories consist of:

Water bottles and a leaf Crystal tracker for your wrist or neck.
