Disney+ launches in SA on DStv
The Walt Disney Company’s direct-to-consumer streaming service, Disney+, will be made available to DStv subscribers in South Africa on 18 May.
Disney+ is the dedicated streaming home for some of the world’s most-loved stories, alongside a growing collection of exclusive originals.
It offers feature-length films, documentaries, live-action and animated series, and short-form content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic.
General entertainment from content brand Star will feature the latest content from 20th Century Studios, Disney Television Studios, FX, Searchlight Pictures and others.
Christine Service, senior vice-president and general manager of the Walt Disney Company Africa, said: “This is yet another exciting milestone in our long-term relationship with MultiChoice Africa.
“We are delighted to be collaborating to bring South African DStv subscribers access to Disney+’s incredible catalogue of films, series and exclusive content.”

Shows on Disney+ will include critically acclaimed The Book of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian and Marvel Studios’ series Moon Knight as well as Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”, Disney and Pixar’s Luca, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Encanto and Cruella.
General entertainment titles include The Simpsons, Queens and The Kardashians, to name just a few. – Citizen reporter
