Do It Again to continue his love with Greyville

- Jack Milner

The Grade 2 World Sports Betting 1900 at Hollywoodbets Greyville tomorrow sees the return of two-time Durban July winner Do It Again.

Justin Snaith’s charge has not raced since finishing a two-length fifth behind Kommetdieding in the Cape Town Met, but he is the best-weighted runner in a race which historically has always been a pointer to the Durban July.

Now seven years old, this son of Twice Over has been a remarkable servant not only to his connections, but to South African racing. In 27 races he has rarely run a bad race and also has a decent record when coming back from a break.

In addition, he has a partiality for Greyville Racecourse, having raced there 11 times for five wins, three thirds and three fourths.

The opposition is far weaker than he has taken on previously so from No 6 draw, back at his favourite course and with Anton

Marcus up, Do It Again could be a banker in all bets.

Once you look past him it is wide open. But he will soon be turning eight and that does leave some doubt in the minds of some punters.

Stablemate Crown Towers is another who has good form at Greyville. Like Do It Again, he has also won five races at Greyville and placed in another three, but from 14 starts. He did win a Pinnacle Stakes over 1800m last November at the track but again, like his stablemate, he has not raced since January.

The six-year-old Camelot gelding is nicely drawn at No 2 and has Richard Fourie up.

Sean Tarry-trained Litigation could lead the younger set. The three-year-old son of Greys Inn won the Listed Derby Trial over 2000m and then finished a 6.50-length fourth behind Aragosta in the Grade 1 SA Derby.

His last run was over 1600m but he needs a little further these days, and with just 52kg on his back and S’manga Khumalo up, he has to be a contender.
