Rain In Holland out of Woolavington and July

TREATMENT: TARRY CONFIRMS TOP FILLY WILL NEED A CORRECTIVE PROCEDURE Other six automatic July qualifiers hold their ground.

Wilgerbosdrift Triple Tiara champion Rain In Holland has been withdrawn from the Grade 1 Hollywoodbets Durban July on Saturday 2 July.

Gold Circle sent out a notice informing the public that trainer Sean Tarry pulled her out of the R5-million race at 12.47pm yesterday.

In a statement from Tarry Racing yesterday, trainer Sean Tarry explained the three-year-old daughter of Duke Of Marmalade had been diagnosed with an entrapped epiglottis and will have a corrective procedure.

“We feel it is in her best interest to take a conservative approach and give her the treatment she needs and deserves,” said Tarry.

While he believed she would have been “hard to stop in accomplishing her third Grade 1 win, it would be unfair on both Rain In Holland and the betting public to even contemplate running a filly of this stature at anything but 100%”.

This means she will also miss the Grade 1 Woolavington 2000 over on Saturday 28 May.

When Gold Circle released the first log for the Durban July Rain In Holland was in fifth position.

She was an automatic qualifier for the race and at this stage the other six have all stood their ground after the First Declaration stage and they naturally occupy the leading positions on the Log.

Former winners Do It Again and Belgarion will now be ranked seventh and 10th respectively. The top 20 horses are listed in order of preference and the "next six" in alphabetical order.

A further log will be issued following the running of the Hollywoodbets Gold Challenge on 11 June.
