It-girls for A-List
NEW: NANDI AND AYANDA HAVE ‘GREAT CHEMISTRY ON SET’
Empowering for two women on big platform.
Bubbly it-girls Nandi Madida and Ayanda Thabethe are getting red carpet ready after being revealed as the stylish presenters of BET’s A-List, the sophisticated new weekly lifestyle and entertainment magazine show from BET. “Nandi and Ayanda are a class act ... and will unpack everything from fashion, to music, movies and more covering the hottest red carpet events and interviewing A-Listers from home and abroad,” said Monde Twala, Viacom’s vice-president for BET youth and music for Africa. An accomplished TV presenter, actress and musician, Madida (formerly Mngoma) certainly has her hands full at the moment, having recently covered the red carpet at the BET awards in LA. She is also working on launching her own fashion line, Color. Known for her roles in productions such as The Road, Madida’s exceptional music talent has also led her into exciting collaborations with hubby Zakes Bantwini, rapper KO, and DJ Kent. Model, actress and businessperson Ayanda is hot property right now, thanks to her recent breakthrough-role in the drama series Rockville. Having made her first forays into modelling while still at university, Ayanda was signed up by Shashi Naidoo’s modelling agency while working as a marketing manager in the cosmetics industry.
After that, it wasn’t long before TV producers came knocking at her door.
“I’m so excited to be a part of the BET family”, said Nandi. “My trip to the BET Awards 2016 gave me insight into what it will be like working on the A-List. What is beautiful is it is an empowering show that features two women on such a big platform. The most exciting part is we are bringing global content like you’ve never seen before.”
Ayanda said: “I am extremely honoured to be a part of an international yet African-conscious family such as BET.
“Nandi and I have great chemistry on set, and viewers can expect a lot of fun and laughter.”
The A-List will start on BET (DStv channel 129) from Thursday September 8 at 6.35pm. – Citizen Reporter
