Dlangalala eased out

-

In a move perceived as aimed at destabilising Dan Malesela, his assistant Zipho Dlangalala (above) was chased out quietly a few weeks ago. A source said: “Dlangalala was helping the team greatly and an improvement was seen after his arrival and some people didn’t like that because they wanted Dan out. If things had improved they would have had no leg to stand on when they called for his sacking,” said the source. It was revealed he said he had left because he felt he could no longer trust some people in the club but refused to reveal more. “I also didn’t want to push him because he would be suspicious of my motives, because he is a very private person,” the source told

Sacking not Mpengesi’s doing

Chippa United owner Siviwe Mpengesi was opposed to the decision to dump coach Dan Malesela (above), a source has alleged. “It was a decision taken at a technical management level. He was overpowered, although the final decision rests with him. They misled him into thinking that the team were stalling under Dan’s guidance,” said the source, who accused outside influences of forcing out Malesela. The source further alleged that the contract termination has stalled because Mpengesi has doubts on the matter and that Malesela could make a surprise return to the club. “Mpengesi knows Dan was good for the team because the brand of football they were playing has attracted the fans,” he said.
