DURBAN JULY: WIN A SPECTACULAR WEEKEND

WIN A DURBAN JULY VIP WEEKEND FOR TWO How to pick your winner based on the tips you receive in your sleep.

- Nicci Garner

Ever had that real need to test how strong a friend’s throat is after he won a huge bet – on a game where you knew the form backwards – and told you afterwards that he dreamt it? The process of interpreting dreams and correlating numbers to the images is known in South Africa as Fafi. And in the 10 days leading up to the country’s most famous race, the Vodacom Durban July, thousands of South Africans will be popping into their local TABs to back their dreams.

Because most people don’t dream in numbers, Wikipedia has published the correlations between numbers and dreams.

For instance, if you dream of a moon, you should back the horse with the No 9 saddlecloth – Ten Gun Salute – or, if the moon is in a cage, the No 9 draw – Marinaresco.

The winner of The Citizen’s SMS competition will not have to go to sleep to have his dreams come true because first prize is an all-expenses-paid weekend for two in Durban, Friday June 30 to Sunday July 2, with a fantastic day’s racing on the Saturday.

The competition also offers R6 000 of cash prizes and R4 000 to spend with TAB.

To enter, SMS the keyword TAB followed by your full name, ID number and suburb of residence to 33521.

The competition closes at midnight tomorrow, so don’t delay. Get your fingers tapping!

There are two consolation prizes comprising a scrumptious lunch for two in the plush Aquanaut Room at Turffontein on Durban July Day, R2 000 to spend with TAB and R1 000 in cash.
