GREAT THEATRE: YOUR GUIDE TO UPCOMING SHOWS

- Adriaan Roets

Nothing beats live entertainment.

Thrift has certainly descended into public consciousness. Recessions, the public protector and the heated economic climate mean we take some extra consideration before loosening the purse strings.

But live entertainment has a way of making us flash cash we sometimes just don’t have. So instead of indebting yourself with on-the-fly leisure purchases, here’s a handy guide to upcoming shows so you can make some educated decisions before typing your credit card number into a ticket retailer website.

JOBURG THEATRE

A Passage to Bollywood is a vibrant stage musical with foot-tapping music, colourful costumes and a gripping plot covering various aspects of Indian Bollywood culture. Direct from India, it comprises classics as well as the latest Bollywood songs. The audience can expect drama, action, romance, and glorious dance – just like a Bollywood film – only live. And on stage. And in South Africa.

The show opened last night at The Mandela and runs until July 9. Get tickets through Computicket and Webtickets.

Nataniël will be joined on stage by Charl du Plessis (piano), Juan Oosthusizen (guitar), Werner Spies (bass), Hugo Radyn (drums) and Dihan Slabbert and Nicolaas Swart (vocals).
