Elle magazine celebrates phenomenal women

- Kgosi Modisane

Strong and successful women took centre stage at the recent launch of Elle magazine’s first cover as part of Ndalo Media. Actress, mother and entrepreneur Enhle Mbali Maphumulo was among the celebrated female figures whose star shone brightly on the night. She spoke emphatically on the theme of the launch issue: love. “I spent so many years trying to give the best of myself to everyone around me but then I had an ‘aha’ moment that I couldn’t give the best of myself if I didn’t fill myself up,” she said about her philosophy on self-love. The celebration was toast- ed with glasses of GH Mumm Champagne as iconic media entrepreneur Khanyi Dhlomo introduced guests to her vision for the two globally renowned magazine titles her company recently acquired.

Local personalities who came to show their support for the two female powerhouses included singer and vocal advocate for ending female-on-female tension, Leanne Dlamini, designer Gert-Johan Coetzee, pioneering textile designer Laduma Ngxokolo and trendy fashion influencers Lethabo “Boogy” Maboi, Lulama Wolf, Cassandra Twala and fashion brand owner Letshego Manche of La Manche.
