-

Last Saturday’s Arnold Chatz Cars Mopar African Endurance Three Hour race at the Dezzi Raceway in KZN saw consistency win through, with victory going to the Drizit Lamborghini Huracan of Jaki Scheckter and Greg Parton.

They finished four laps ahead of Fritz Kleynhans/ James Forbes (Ligier Honda JS49), who led home Darren Winterboer/Kris Budnik (Barons BMW F30 335i), Bradley Scorer/Theo van Vuuren (Arnold Chatz Alfa Giulietta) and Mike Schmidt/Bruce Avern-Taplin (Bataleur Nash MVW3).

Sixth place went to Stuart Konig/Johnathan Konig (Volkswagen Golf 2 GTi), three laps clear of Andy Gossman/ Mike Barbaglia (Volkswagen Scirocco), with Eric Salomon/ Dave Sinclair (ELF S06) a further lap adrift in eighth.

After initially disputing the race lead, Franco and Silvio Scribante suffered brake problems with their Chevron B26 and dropped down to an eventual ninth place, ahead of Mike Altona/Steve Pickering (Porsche 910).

On the Index of Performance, which rewards the lap time consistency of competitors, the Budnik/Winterboer BMW triumphed over the Konig/Konig Golf and the Alfa of Scorer/Van Vuuren.

The Schmidt/Avern-Taplin Nash was fourth ahead of Andy Gossman and Mike Barbaglia in a Volkswagen Scirocco.
