Giant pandas on loan in Jakarta
– Two giant pandas arrived yesterday in Indonesia where they will live for 10 years, the country’s environment minister said.
The seven-year-old pandas, named Cai Tao and Hu Chun, landed in Jakarta after a five-hour flight from the Chinese city of Chengdu.
They will live in a safari zoo in Bogor, near the capital Jakarta, for 10 years before going back to China, as part of what is often referred to as Beijing’s “panda diplomacy”. – DPA
