Migrant boy, 9, dies in Greece

– A child died yesterday on the Greek island of Kastellorizo, in the eastern Aegean, after a boat with migrants capsized, Greek state radio reported.

The nine-year-old child succumbed to hypothermia.

The boat with 26 migrants overturned near an islet off Kastellorizo. The coastguard rescued five and 20 other survivors reached the islet on their own and were brought to safety. About 1 200 migrants have reached European soil at Kastellorizo since the start of the year. – DPA
