Historic Cape church bombed
The 150-year-old St Mark’s Church in District Six in Cape Town has been damaged after a protester threw a petrol bomb at it amid unrest at Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
The church was not gutted but significant damage was reported. “The Anglican Diocese of Cape Town is dismayed at the petrolbombing of St Mark’s Church ... which played a pivotal role in the struggle for justice and freedom,” the diocese said. – ANA
