Strike action threat

-

Teams in the ABC Motsepe League are preparing to protest over bribes to match officials and lack of investigation by Safa over their claims. According to a source in the league, Buya Msuthu FC, Matlosana United and Orbit College are among the teams alleged to be buying their games and nothing has been done. “We have been complaining for years now, these clubs are always buying their games, but nothing has been done to solve the problem. People at the association just listen to our complaints, but they do nothing about the situation. We are planning a strike and if nothing is being done we will not play,” said the source.

Ntshangase wants Chiefs move

understands that Baroka FC star midfielder Siphelele Ntshangase (above) is unhappy at the club as his heart is with Kaizer Chiefs. The skilful attacking midfielder joined in August after speculation that were the front-runners to land the 24-year-old’s signature. “Joining Baroka was not his choice, he went there because Baroka and Black Leopards’ owners have a good relationship and the transfer fee was one David Thidiela couldn’t turn down,” said a source close to the club.

Letsholonyane helping the kids

Reneilwe Letsholonyane (above) has raised his hand in a bid to take up a coaching role at SuperSport United. He is overseeing the development and growth of youngsters like Sipho Mbule and Teboho Mokoena. “It is our duty as so-called experienced players to try and help these young boys. We have been through this road and our duty is to try and minimise their mistakes so they can realise their potential quicker than we did. It is important I keep talking to them and try to help them improve their game,” said the 35-year-old.

Bartlett lashes out at referees

University of Pretoria coach Shaun Bartlett (above) has slammed the level of officiating in the National First Division after his side lost 2-1 to Tshakuma after conceding a goal in the last minute of the game. “It is three points lost at home and we’ve got to bounce back,” said an angry Bartlett. “But there are certain things that we can’t control, like officiating. For me it was absolutely horrendous, but again, we’ve got to score goals in order to win a match,” added the former Bafana Bafana striker.
