Mayoral Golf Day raises R132 000 for charity
Enthusiastic golfers hit the course at the Gary Player Country Club at Sun City this month for the 2018 Moses Kotane Local Municipality Mayoral Golf Day. The charity event raised R132 000 for the municipality's Mayoral Bursary Fund which offers financial assistance to underprivileged individuals in the North West for education.
During dinner and prize giving, an auction of sporting memorabilia was held and once again people dug deep to help increase proceeds raised for the fund.
Each member of the winning 4-ball team walked away with a Wheely Duffle Bag and two-night stay at The Palace, including a 2-ball at Gary Player Country Club or Lost City Golf Course.
The winning 4-ball, with a score of 101 points, comprised of Musa Ncanana, Sameer Ebrahim, Cornelius Madiele and Mohammed Hafejee.
Prizes were also awarded to the top five 4-balls, Nearest to Pin, Longest Drive and Longest Day. Catch the day’s festivities on Sun City’s Facebook page, SunCitySA.
“The Moses Kotane Local Municipality Mayoral Golf Day was a spirited event, offering golfers an opportunity to pit their skills against other golfers on one of the most beautiful golf courses in SA, while making a contribution to a worthy local cause,” says Thapelo Modise, Marketing Manager at Sun City. “We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the golfers and sponsors who took part in the event to support this initiative, which is close to our heart.”
