Gavin Hunt’s Bidvest Wits are making an early statement in the Absa Premiership with their record of three out of three league wins so far for this season.

Wits outclassed Free State Stars 3-0 in the season opener before going on to beat Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates 3-1 and 1-0 respectively.

The Students will have their early title contender credentials tested tonight when they host SuperSport United in Braamfontein.

Both United and Wits carry the confidence of taking down Bucs in their last games (SuperSport knocked Pirates out of the MTN8).

While Wits have been untouchable so far, Kaitano Tembo’s men have a 50% record in the league after losing to Cape Town City and then beating AmaZulu. I am not convinced that United can do enough to derail the moving train that is Wits.
