State of our roads is a reflection of the country

Why does government not employ competent people, asks

t is disgraceful the way our once beautiful and efficient country has deteriorated due to corruption and misgovernment. SAA, Eskom, education, health services, waterworks, finance and telecommunications to name a few. And then, of course, our roads. I took a cellphone picture on Ennerdale’s main road after the recent rainfall.

Judging from the faded road markings, it is hard to believe that this very road was painted approximately a month ago.

What paint is being used? I’ve noticed on other roads that only the outlines of arrow markings are being painted.

This is obviously done to cut costs, but how long will those outlines last?

To crown it all, when the street names are repainted in our area, it has become normal to find glaring spelling errors in the final process.

Why aren’t persons employed that have the word competent in their curriculum vitae?
