hat could be better than spending the long weekend officially marking the start of summer, than basking in the Durban sunshine and inhaling the sea breeze?

A relaxed afternoon marked by great food, good vibes and some of the best music South Africa has to offer, and that’s exactly what you can get next Saturday and Sunday at the Capitec Live Better Festival at Kings Park Stadium’s outer fields in Durban.

The Sunday line-up has been beefed up with the addition of the pride of Umlazi and multi award-winner Khaya Mthethwa, soul sensation Mlindo, and the Neo soul sound of Afrotraction.

The artists will be joining the already impressive bill featuring the emotive Zonke, the new first lady of house Lady Zamar, the talented Zamajobe, and the man who has South Africa chanting Asphelelanga, Vusi Nova.

While day two is all about chilling to the relaxing vibes of jazz, Afro-soul and RnB, Saturday will be an all-day vibe packed with hiphop, gqom and house tunes that will have festivalgoers on their feet from the afternoon to early morning.

Revellers are expected to be treated to hours of great hits when Nasty C, Kwesta, AKA and Zakwe serve them the best of Mzansi’s hip-hop, and it’s also expected to be explosive fun when house and qqom chiefs DJ Tira, Distruction Boyz and Okmalumkoolkat take over the stage.

Local favourites DJs Junior, De Rocka, King Sfiso and Mario will keep it on lock as they represent their province with pride. Gagasi FM’s voices will be the emcees over the two days, with Heazy, Farieda and Le Soul on Saturday, and a special appearance by Victor Malaza, Collen Zondo, Jesse Suntele and Nomfundo Xaba on Sunday. Capitec’s head of marketing and corporate affairs, Sbusiso Kumalo, says: “We are so excited to see the expansion to the line-up with fresh, young, up-and-coming as well as established artists. “The addition of all the talent allows an even better offering to the Live Better Festival, where we can present an exciting offering of music, food, fashion and much more over two highly anticipated days. This family outing is a sure win for festivalgoers in the KwaZulu-Natal region.” Tickets for the festival are available through Ticketpro and at all Edcon outlets at 15% discount when using a Capitec Bank card to buy.
