Mackie Adlem will be looking to retain his standing at top of the V8 leader board.

The Aldo Scribante circuit near Port Elizabeth will host a round of the 2019 Northern Regions Extreme Festival this Saturday, with seven separate racing categories taking to the tarmac.

Top billing will belong to the G&H Transport Extreme Supercar brigade.

Local hero Franco Scribante should be the man to beat in his Scribante Concrete Porsche 997, facing off against people like Charl Arangies (Stradale McLaren MP4 GT3), Jonathan du Toit (TAR Ferrari F430), Anthony Blunden (Stradale Porsche 997), Gianni Giannoccar­o (G&H Transport Lamborghin­i Gallardo), Antony Blunden (Stradale Porsche 997), plus the all-wheel drive Audi S4 entries of Aldo and Silvio Scribante.

Mackie Adlem (Adlem Auto Jaguar) will go to Port Elizabeth as the title leader in the Mobil 1 V8 Supercar championsh­ip.

Challengin­g him will be drivers like Terry Wilford (Fuchs Ford Falcon), Franco di Matteo (Deltec Jaguar), David Coetzee (ELKSA Ford Falcon), Steve Herbst (Prei Instrument­s Corvette) and Antonie Marx (Jaguar), plus locals Bevan Swartz (Corvette) and Johan van der Westhuizen (Camaro).

The MotorMart Volkswagen Challenge brigade will provide a varied 29-car entry, led at the front-end by people like Rory Atkinson (BHIT Polo), Lyle Ramsay (Monroe Polo), Bevin Masters (CPS Warehouse Polo), Waldie Meintjes (Allwagen Parts Polo), Chris Dale (Blue Belt Polo), Derick Smalberger (VW Polo), Mohamed Dangor (MotorMart Polo) and series points-leader Stiaan Kriel in his Class B MotorMart Kalex Polo.

The day’s closest racing could well be provided by the Hankook Formula Vee brigade, with victory challenger­s like Jaco Schriks (Lube Station Rhema), Gert van der Berg (Rhema), Lushen Ramchander (TRA Forza), Peter Hills (Lube Fusion Rhema), Ben Pienaar (DOE Parts Rhema), Richard Carr (Lucky Star Rhema) and Cyril Somerville (Dolphin Spring).

The Car Care Clinic 111 Sports and Saloon Car races should see frontrunne­rs like lady racer Kaylyn Miller (Midas Kia), Louis Scholtz (Car Care Civic), Wouter Roos (Nathans VW Golf), Porsche 924 men Mark Ellis, Phillip Meyer and Clive Smith, Harry Arangies, (Nissan 350Z) and Wayne Masters (VW Polo).

They will come up against locals like Rudolf de Vos (Chev Can-Am), Steve High (Chev Cruze), Marais Ellis (BMW), Gordan Nolan (VW Polo) and Dean Ball (Champion BMW).

The Car Care Clinic SuperHatch races should produce tight action between drivers like Jonathan du Toit (TAR Honda Civic), Andre Dannhauser (Pro Auto Opel Corsa), Louis Scholtz (Car Care Clinic Civic), Tyler Scott (Jestic Opel Kadett), Brett Garland (autObarn Honda Civic), Chris Davison (Opel Kadett Superboss), Nic Martin (Peugeot 208 GTI), Melanie Spurr (AKA VW Polo) and Zane van Zyl (Credit Guarantee VW Golf).

Rounding out the programme will be races for Bridgeston­e Challenge Superbikes, with podium contenders to include Morongoa Mahope (Yamaha R1), Ian Thomas (SA Compressor Kawasaki), Stephen Motau (Ducati Panigale), Itumeleng Morakile (Honda) and Keith Botha (Honda CBR 600).
