Are Netcare’s charges fair?

According to the business section of The Citizen (November 20) Netcare “paid out shareholders a whopping R2.36 billion”.

It begs the question, are their charges not excessive and is this one of the reasons why medical aids have become so expensive?

Would it not make sense to force a reduction in prices these clinics are charging in order to help reduce the costs of medical aids, in order to offer more affordable healthcare to all, instead of trying to introduce the totally unaffordable NHI?
