When is a minister of mineral resources and energy being appointed? R3.6 billion debt for Soweto written off. Total lunacy ... clearly there is no competent person in the abovementioned portfolio.

David M

South Africa is essentially a welfare state. Did Eskom really believe that it would ever recover its debt from Soweto?

Leigh

If Eskom joins the Grand Inga hydro scheme, it would be highly likely that most of the power would be “rerouted” before it ever gets to SA!

Tom Lambe

Don, just change your address to Soweto then you don’t have to pay for electricity. Problem solved.

Dixie

Yes, Don, you can have recourse on your municipality for your power being cut off. But you have to make it a class action meaning getting people to join your cause, then it will work.

Went to the store in good mood, intention of finding bargains. The rudeness and selfishness of fellow shoppers made me just give up and leave.

Craig, Vereeniging

We went to Game Greenstone, on Black Friday at midnight for a fridge! The shop was a madhouse! No one to help you, stood in the queue to order the fridge, the line didn’t move for 20 minutes, and there was another queue to pay! We went home! Never again!

If a tax revolt is an act of civil disobedience and is unlawful, then what do you call the act of corrupt criminal billionaire ministers?

Ediv

More trains destroyed by arson at Cape Town station! Disgraceful! Seeing as this is now a regular pastime in Cape Town, why are police not doing continual patrols at the station? What kind of human scum can destroy millions of rand of trains? A travesty!

Nicky Oelofse

Siwela, your cartoon of November 28 was brilliant. Cheers, you deserve a beer!

John Bam

So chuffed to see Kaizer Chiefs strutting their stuff after some tough years. Bravo.

Joe Moore

The situation in Jozi, Tshwane and all other metros and councils is desperate. Us ratepayers have no input or say in the management of our resources, suburbs or towns. We need to revive our ratepayers’ associations and take control of our towns and their finances.
