Ukraine un­locks $5.5bn IMF loan

Ukraine sealed a pre­lim­i­nary $5.5 bil­lion (R80.4 bil­lion) loan pro­gramme with the In­ter­na­tional Mon­e­tary Fund, giv­ing Pres­i­dent Volodymyr Ze­len­skiy a boost be­fore peace talks with Rus­sia.

The agree­ment in­cludes poli­cies to be car­ried out by Ukraine to un­der­pin the three­year pro­gramme, the fund’s manag­ing direc­tor Kristalina Ge­orgieva said af­ter a call with Ze­len­skiy. – Bloomberg
