The modern world is full of sickos and trolls

The Citizen (KZN) - - Letters -

These days you can’t compliment a child without being labelled as a paedophile, writes Garry.

How times have changed. This world is full of sickos or trolls whose only aim in life is to place others in compromising positions.

Forty odd years years ago when my kids were small and we visited a shopping centre – there were no malls in those days – people often approached us and commented on our children’s curly blonde hair and blue eyes.

We often did the same with other children.

Today if you dare not do that, you will immediately be looked at with suspicion and wrongly cast as a possible paedophile.

It is so sad that one can no longer compliment other people’s children in a public place without being glared at.

I read of two instances just the other day.

A doting, loving father was taken to task for cuddling his sevenyear-old daughter and another person was bad mouthed on social media for kissing his young daughter on the lips.

My girls are middle aged now and I still hug and kiss them because I love them as a father.

It is not the innocent actions of these fathers, but the sick and weird minds, together with the evil tongues of those on social media, that cause all the unnecessary publicity.
