2020 ES­PORT LEAGUES: NEW TELKOM VS GAM­ING CHAM­PI­ONSHIPS STARTS

The fi­nals for both CS:GO and Dota2 for the cov­eted Mas­ters ti­tles of the Es­port cham­pi­onships were bat­tled out at Gal­lagher Es­tate in Midrand. En­ergy Es­ports walked off with the ti­tle for Coun­ter­strike while Go­liath Gam­ing claimed their ti­tle ac­co­lade for Dota2.

The Telkom VS Gam­ing cham­pi­onships were con­cluded in Rivo­nia and the game ti­tle cham­pi­ons were as fol­lows:

League of Le­gends Cham­pi­onship – RYL Roy­alty Es­ports

The ever pop­u­lar and rapidly grow­ing High School Es­ports League (HSEL) saw first places be­ing awarded to Paul Roos Gym­na­sium for CS:GO, Grantleigh High School for League of Le­gends and Grey High School for Dota2.

All HSEL fi­nals also took place at the Telkom VS Gam­ing Es­ports High Per­for­mance Cen­tre in Rivo­nia.

The com­mit­ment, long hours and hard work over the 2019 sea­son paid off for all the win­ners and gamers are look­ing for­ward to an­other thrilling and com­pet­i­tive sea­son as new­com­ers and loyal gamers alike con­tinue to chal­lenge the top teams for the ti­tles and lu­cra­tive prize monies on of­fer from Telkom VS Gam­ing.

The cham­pi­onship will specif­i­cally fo­cus on less game ti­tles to pro­vide the com­mu­nity of gamers with a higher level of qual­ity and ser­vice.

Reg­is­tra­tions for the 2020 leagues closes on 16 Fe­bru­ary.

Those who missed the first round of reg­is­tra­tions are wel­come to en­ter the sec­ond round be­tween 23 March and 5 Apri.

“The ac­tiv­i­ties this year will be split into three mi­cro-sea­sons, known as legs,” says Wanda Mkhize, ex­ec­u­tive con­tent and VS Gam­ing. “These legs take place on­line be­tween March and Au­gust, with a short reg­is­tra­tion pe­riod held be­fore each leg be­gins.”

The top qual­i­fy­ing teams will com­pete at a fi­nal in Au­gust.

Game ti­tles that did not make the list will be sup­ported through­out the year with short­form cups. “We will con­tin­u­ously re­view the num­ber of en­tries into these cups and host ad­di­tional cups for pop­u­lar game ti­tles,” says Mkhize.

The suc­cess­ful HSEL is also back for its third sea­son this year. Telkom VS Gam­ing have been work­ing closely with the HSEL board to en­sure the dates do not clash with ex­ams.

The school teams will com­pete over the course of two legs.

Counter-Strike Global Of­fen­sive

League of Le­gends Telkom VS Gam­ing has also an­nounced the launch of a mo­bile league plat­form, named Telkom Plus. This plat­form is avail­able ex­clu­sively to Telkom cus­tomers. Gamers stand a chance to win some epic prizes.
