Zungu set for Mallorca move
Bafana Bafana midfielder Bongani Zungu looked set for a late move to Spain’s La Liga on transfer deadline day yesterday, with Real Mallorca reported to have snapped up the 27 year-old from French Ligue 1 side Amiens.
Zungu, who moved to Vitoria de Guimaraes in Portugal from Mamelodi Sundowns in 2016, before moving on to Amiens a year later, could well become the first South African to feature in Spain’s top flight this season.
Mallorca fans will hope Zungu can help the team in their battle against relegation – Vincente Moreno’s side are currently just one point and one place above the drop zone.
Zungu was a regular at Amiens in his first season, before an injury-hit second campaign, but he starred for Bafana Bafana at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations and netted a goal for Almiens,
