Bucs’ luck has changed

Vincent Pule (above) believes Orlando Pirates were just unlucky in the first part of the season which saw them struggling to win games.

But that is something they have finally found at the business end of the League following an impressive winning streak.

The Buccaneers are on a high at the moment having won their last four games, which many may attribute to their new coach Josef Zinnbauer who is yet to lose a match since taking over at the club in December.

Zinnbauer has steered Bucs into fourth position on the log with 33 points going into their next match against Chippa United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium tonight. And Pule says all the German wants from them is to give their all in each and every game.

“I think in the first round we were not scoring goals and I think it’s even better that we are scoring goals quicker now.

“We get a lot of chances and we score. It’s getting better and we are winning games. I think we needed luck in the first round and now it is back because we are winning games,” said Pule.

“The coach wants the heart more than the talent. We have shown character and we have to match the effort of our opponents. When you play against Pirates they come to fight and we have to fight more than them. We don’t have to be complacent and start showing off. I think we are on the right track and we will keep on fighting.”

Meanwhile, Zinnbauer says what is important for the team now is to keep focused on the next game and hope to get maximum points.

“We are always looking forward to the next game, we don’t look ahead to three games or more. It is all about the next opponent. We also look at the system and what the best position is for my players and then hope to perform well and get three
