The Hemel ’N Aarde Stud will, once again, be offering a large, quality draft at this year’s Cape Yearling Sale, set to take place at the Mistico Equestrian Centre on 28 February.

The draft includes yearlings by such popular and proven stallions as Captain Of All, Elusive Fort, Jay Peg, Pathfork and What A Winter and promises to offer a horse for every buyer.

Champion sprinter What A Winter, who produced two Grade 1 winners on Sun Met day last Saturday, has three in this draft – a filly (Lot 39) from the same family as star fillies Empress Club, Ecurie and Epoque, a filly (Lot 64) whose Grade 3-placed granddam is a Jet Master half-sister to champion Hammie’s Hooker and a colt (Lot 164) out of a Dynasty half-sister to the stakes-placed Captain Dino and the dam of the useful High Voltage.

Dynasty’s triple Grade 1 winner Jackson, sire of such exciting three-year-olds this season as Count Jack, Pure State and Pretty Young Thing has three yearlings in this draft – a colt (Lot 2) out of a Danehill Dancer daughter of Grade 1-winning sprinter Pipalong, a filly (Lot 54) from the family of Oaks winner Gleaming Sky and a colt (Lot 131) whose granddam is a half-sister to the Grade 1 winners Golden Peak and Record Edge.

Champion Sprinter Captain Of All has made an excellent start to his stud career and is responsible for two fillies here – a filly (Lot 29) from the family of Grade 3-winning filly Royal Charm, and a half-sister (Lot 74) to five winners including the smart Rock Deejay.

Irish champion Pathfork has been in great form with his recent representatives headed by graded stakes winners Jet Start and Mr Flood.

He has a half-sister (Lot 35) to three winners here, with this filly hailing from the family of champion My Swallow.

Other appealing lots include the Alado filly (Lot 36) out of talented race mare Dynasty’s Pride and the Elusive Fort filly (Lot 55).
