45m children to get measles shots
– Vaccine group Gavi said this week it would help to innoculate up to 45 million children in countries in Asia and Africa against measles over the next six months.
Gavi will work with governments and groups including the World Health Organisation and Unicef to target vulnerable children under five years old.
Cases have surged dramatically in recent years, with almost 430 000 cases reported for 2019, according to provisional data. – AFP
