The Citizen (KZN) - - Letters -

Why does the government not trim the bloated workforce and bloated salaries at SOEs?

Gordon

Mr Malema, please come clean. The public can all see that you are against Pravin because he is busy rooting out corruption.

E Moilwa

It always feels like Eskom is not telling the whole story about load shedding. The public are given very little notice when load shedding begins.

If Zuma is well enough to skip the country to go to Cuba, he is well enough to be in court. Again, is the taxpayer footing the bill, and how is he allowed to do this? Is he not a flight risk?

Milton

Proteas, bring Smith, Boucher, and Kallis to play and not coach, because this current team can’t play at all.

JL

All you Trump naysayers just wish we had a president with his backbone and leadership qualities. So just cry in your soup.

Michael Floyd

According to ANC chairperson Gwede Mantashe, SAA serves only the “elite”. Two quick questions, Mr Mantashe: are you part of that elite and who pays for your air fares?

Jenny

The ANC cannot keep their hands off the SOEs. What does Ramaphosa not understand? Business rescue does not entitle him or any other ANC person to get involved.

Big red

Simphiwe, based on your premise, Nelson Mandela (bless the man) should have returned his Nobel Peace Prize as he supported the ANC’s stance on violence against this very regime, as you call it. You really need to get a life. Your continuous diatribe has one intent – to sow discord.

Keith B

Simphiwe, in all fairness, is there anything wonderful that this lame duck government has done to warrant praise? Methinks not.

Stan

The government should give tax rebates to all citizens who install JoJo rain harvesting tanks. Maybe having a JoJo or similar rain harvesting tank should be made law in this water-starved country?

Nicky Oelofse

One thing the government and the trade unions must realise is that businesses are run for profit and not for charity. Bankrupt SOEs are the result of the latter option. No overseas companies will invest for altruistic motives.
