Suspend the ‘crooks’ without pay, please

The Citizen (KZN) - - Letters -

Government officials caught stealing should not be paid while on suspension, writes Sharon.

Every day, I read the newspaper and listen to the news – and not a day goes by without the inevitable story of another government employee stealing from the people of South Africa.

It’s absolutely amazing to read that not only have they stolen money, but the ones that are caught are suspended with full pay.

It also takes years for anything to actually happen to these thieves. They rake in an absolute fortune which the people of South Africa are paying.

These parasites should not be paid while on suspension and if – and I say a big if – the person is not guilty, they can be paid back.

An absolute fortune would be saved.
