Hunt for treasure on Sunday when collectabl­es, watches and handbags are offered.

Enjoy some leap year madness tomorrow and on Sunday as Old Johannesbu­rg Warehouse Auctioneer­s host yet another auction with over a 1 300 lots. On leap day tomorrow – 29 February – the auction starts at 9AM with 650 lots.

The usual delightful selection of items comprise fantastic furniture (Victorian, Danish, retro, industrial), a wonderful selection of ceramics and silver, classic toys, model cars and trains (Marklin, Corgi, Dinky) and Star Wars memorabili­a (including a life size Yoda model).

Rare militaria is mixed into this section, with themed paintings, daggers and swords.

An eclectic selection of traditiona­l and contempora­ry art with 100 lots is mixed into this session.

To raise the bar, 100 lots of classic cars, petronalia and enamel signs will attract a lot of bidding.

Tags include Lotus, Porsche, Harley Davidson, VW, Mini, Ford, Sunbeam and Triumph – to name a few.

Of special mention is a beautiful 1958 MG model A, 1500cc cabriolet with soft top.

Treasure hunt Sunday also kicks off at 9am with a trove of items that will keep buyers busy for hours and keep collectors enthralled, there is so much to choose from.

The standalone jewellery and watch session begins at 1pm with 300 glittering lots.

Many beautiful Victorian, Art Nouveau, Art Deco, antique and modern pieces form this line up.

For the watch collectors: Rolex, Omega, Cartier, Panerai, Tag Heuer and others will encourage furious bidding.

Also in this session are some vintage designer handbags.

Viewing for this auction opened to the public yesterday and is available again today from 8.30am until 4pm.

Tomorrow and Sunday, it is open from 8am until the auction starts at 9am.

Safe, guarded parking is available across the road from the warehouse.

Registrati­on is free.

The next exciting off-site auction is also around the corner – a private collector in Secunda will be selling his collection of classic and muscle cars (Corvette, Mustang, MG, Ford, Porsche etc) as well as 40 classic motorbikes (Harley Davidson, BMW and more), petronalia and thousands of toy cars on site in Secunda on 14 March. Viewing takes place on 13 March.
