With loads of TAB soccer carryovers and crucial matches in several countries there’s a great weekend ahead for soccer fans.

TAB’s hugely popular Soccer 10 is one of the carryover beneficiaries with a R400,000 boost to tomorrow’s principal Soccer 10 pool (S10 V1). That should ensure a total net pool of well over R3 million and real prospects of some astute players winning mountains of cash.

There’s also a R100,000 carryover to tomorrow’s frontline Soccer 6 pool and the Soccer 13 pool is expected to top R35 million as a result of a near R6-million carryover.

The tantalising array of soccer matches to bet on with TAB include vital games in both Italy and Spain this weekend that could go a long way to determining the outcome of the respective league championships.

In Italy, it’s the clash between champions Juventus and Inter Milan on Sunday night while in Spain “El Classico” dominates the weekend agenda as Barcelona visit the Santiago Bernabeu.

Rivals Real Madrid have dropped five points in their last two La Liga games and allowed the defending champions to go two points clear.

Real’s woes were increased on Wednesday night, when they let a lead slip to Manchester City and ended up losing at home in the Champions League.

Barcelona, conversely, got a draw in Napoli on Tuesday and are well set to advance. In La Liga they have won four in a row and will be fancied to do something away in Madrid.

Juventus have created a pattern in recent years of starting slowly, offering the exciting possibility of title success to others and then switching up a gear when needed and romping away with the “Scudetto”.

Roma and Napoli have previously been teased and in Serie A this year Inter were the early front-runners.

But Juventus, with eight successive titles, were not going to give up their crown easily and have steadily reined Inter Milan in with eight wins from their past 10 league games. They now have a six-point lead over Inter, who have slipped to third behind Lazio, albeit with a game in hand.

Sunday’s game, known as the Derby d’Italia, is to be played without any spectators after a controversial week in the Italian game, with matches in the northern part of the country cancelled due to the rapid spread of the Coronavirus.

“I think that playing behind closed doors is not beautiful. Football needs the public and to feel the whole atmosphere around it, it’s the most beautiful thing,” Inter boss Antonio Conte said.

“Having said that, we defer to the decisions made for health reasons, but I hope that first everything returns to normal.”
