As a white South African, there are some statues that offend me, but I accept the right of the statues to stand, as long as those I revere may stand as well. I do not want statues that offend me to be removed. History cannot be altered.

When are the majority in SA going to stop expecting everything to be handed to them on a plate? For free! There is no will to get up and do something.

When are our libraries going to open? They are essential services and should have been opened long ago.

Perhaps The Citizen might publish some dissenting views? A lot of misinformation and disinformation circulating, compounding the misery and pain of South Africans. Excellent editorial page on Saturday. Thanks for a good read.

Ton, thanks for your info about the Lotto. What I am concerned about is where the winning ones were 15, 16, 23, 36, 37, 38 and bonus no 18. I have never seen three consecutive numbers in a row come out being a one-ticket win. What are the odds for that?

Teams can be sold but history of teams cannot vanish by changing names. Safa must make a law: no name changes will be allowed if PSL teams are bought. It wipes teams’ history away.

The whole idea of this idiotic nonsensical lockdown we have been told was to flatten the curve. But as usual with the government’s incompetence they managed to flatten and destroy the economy and the curve is not flattened but almost vertical.

I was most surprised that the Saturday editorial should suggest that the murdered woman should be our Floyd. Surely that is Collins Khosa who was killed by law enforcement officers? Or perhaps the Marikana victims of police shootings?
