M1 Mamelodi Sundowns v Bidvest Wits:

The season in South Africa restarts with the Nedbank Cup as Sundowns and Wits resume their rivalry. Their past four clashes have all been drawn, three times ending in a 1-1 stalemate.

M2 Royal Antwerp v Excelsior Mouscron:

Antwerp won the Belgian Cup last weekend and now kick off the new season in buoyant mood. Mouscron won 3-1 at home the last time the two clubs met in November.

M3 Standard Liège v Cercle Brugge:

Standard are unbeaten in their past seven meetings against Cercle Brugge, winning six of them, as the new Belgian league season gets underway.

M4 Bayern Munich v Chelsea:

Bayern have had a month off football whereas Chelsea were in the FA Cup final last Saturday. But Bayern take a 3-0 lead from the first leg of this Champions League tie to the return game in Munich.

M5 Barcelona v Napoli:

Barcelona drew 1-1 at Napoli in the first leg of this interrupte­d Champions League tie and have homeground advantage in the return as they seek a place in the last eight.

M6 Palmeiras v Corinthian­s:

Final of the state Paulista league in Brazil. The first leg is being played on Thursday and the return on Saturday. Corinthian­s beat Palmeiras 1-0 towards the end of last month in the group stages.

M7 General Díaz v Olimpia Asuncion:

General Díaz have drawn their last two games in the league in Paraguay, while Olimpia top the table after a six-match unbeaten run.

M8 Coritiba v Internacio­nal:

First game of the new Brazilian

Serie A season for both clubs. Internacio­nal lead the past win count over Coritiba 11-9 with 10 draws in 30 previous meetings.

M9 Sport Recife v Ceará:

Sport Recife are back in the top flight of Brazilian football after just one season down. They have won all five previous visits by Cerara with a goal aggregate of 9-1.

M10 Juventus Managua v Walter Ferretti:

The new season has begun in Nicaragua which was one of the few countries where football did not shut down during the COVID crisis. Juventus beat Walter Ferretti 4-1 in March in their last meeting.
