Tentative ‘yes’ to steroid for Covid

– Taiwan provisionally approved the use of dexamethasone, a cheap steroid, to treat Covid-19, as the island faces a shortfall of the antiviral drug remdesivir after the US bought nearly all global supplies.

Medical experts decided to provisionally allow it to be listed as a treatment but procedures needed to be completed before it could be given to any patients.

Taiwan has reported 476 cases and seven deaths.
