Hit the road with 5FM’s Nick Hamman again

5FM’s Nick Hamman takes to the roads again, traversing South Africa, celebratin­g the country for Heritage Month for his annual Heritage Tour.

The 5Drive Heritage Tour – previously known as the Hamman Time Heritage Tour – is in its fourth year and is a month-long ode to South Africa and its diverse beauty.

This time, Hamman will be accompanie­d by the entire 5Drive team as Jude van Wyk (sports), Nadia Romanos (news) and Bibi Mbangula (traffic) join him and producer Mad Money Mike as they kick off the first broadcast on Saturday. The team will uncover hidden gems and favourite spots around the country.

Spending two days in each of the country’s nine provinces, the team will broadcast live while participat­ing in various activities and being fully absorbed in different cultural experience­s, while the digital team capture and share content across all the station’s social media platforms.

The tour begins in the Northern Cape with a visit to Augrabies Falls, before heading towards the North West province, Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, KwaZulu Natal, Free State and winding down in the Eastern Cape and the Western Cape by the end of the month.

Some highlights along the way include a visit to The Kruger National Park, Franschhoe­k and the Vredefort Dome, while sampling South African cuisine, including KZN’s famous bunny chows, a traditiona­l potjiekos in the Northern Cape, umngqusho in the Eastern Cape and bobotie in Cape Town.

Some activities audiences can look forward to is the team turtle tracking in Sodwana, a night game drive and guided treetop walks in Mapungubwe.
