Germany pushed on migrant camps

– Campaigners placed 13 000 chairs outside the German parliament building in Berlin on Monday in a symbolic protest calling for the overcrowded migrants camps on Greek islands to be shut down.

Each chair represented a person stuck in terrible conditions in Moria camp on Lesbos island, the largest camp, said the organising groups. German states have said they were ready to take responsibility for the migrants. – AFP
