EFF’s actions will erode party’s support base

It raises real issues but its methods are questionable, writes Masilo Sepane.

Iwould like to comment about the recent protest of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) against Clicks. It is clear the EFF’s view of the current issues that are affecting the country is skew, immature and limited in scope.

The behaviour of the EFF shows that the party is not a proper political vehicle to take the majority of South Africans forward.

The manner in which the EFF and its leaders carry themselves clearly indicates that the party is just a political propaganda machine which is out of touch with the real needs of ordinary South Africans.

The leadership of the EFF is ignorant, selfish and misleading to many. You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to see that you do not need to vandalise any property to make your point clear.

Many political leaders have, in the past, applied peaceful protests or nonviolent methods to win their political discourse.

The EFF and its leaders are not good political students and their behaviour will soon cause them to fall on their swords.

The EFF must know that South African voters are well educated when it comes to exercising their rights.

If the party continues deploying these violent methods and language to make its point clear, it will soon lose its support base, even though it is raising real issues in the country.

The fact is, just because you raise real issues does not mean you are the right person/vehicle to lead us to realise our dreams.

In my view, the EFF is an irrelevant party feeding on the propaganda to make themselves relevant at the expense of the South African majority.
