Good early bets at Durbanville

- Jack Milner

Bettors at Durbanville tomorrow can make some early money to build up a kitty for their Pick 6 and Jackpots.

An All-To-Come TAB bet with Royal Flush in Race 1 and Queen Niyaba in Race 2 should get everybody on their way.

Justin Snaith dominated Monday’s Western Cape meeting, also at Durbanville, with four winners, and they can follow up where they left off with Royal Flush.

Stable jockey Richard Fourie partners Royal Flush in a Maiden Plate over 1250m, and after an unlucky sixth – beaten 5.65 lengths – over this course and distance last time out, this well-bred Captain Al colt should set the record straight.

He was denied a clear passage at a crucial stage in the finish when last seen eight weeks ago but would have come on with that experience and will be wiser to the task now.

A good draw over this course and distance is essential and Royal Flush is perfectly positioned in gate No 5. That could improve further should the reserve runners come out and that could see him move in one more position to No 4.

Queen Niyabah made a very promising debut over 1200m in heavy going at Kenilworth in August. After leading for most of the journey the daughter of Kingbarns was snared just short of the line by 0.10 lengths.

Glen Kotzen’s charge could only have come on from that run and it is worth noting that Aldo Domeyer is back aboard for this run.

The stable is in top form and she will also jump from barrier No 5 in this Maiden Plate for fillies and mares over 1250m.
