Cop allegedly raids own safe

A 49-year-old warrant officer is expected to appear in the Welkom Magistrate’s Court in the Free State in January on charges of theft, malicious damage to property and defeating the ends of justice.

According to Captain Christopher Singo, on 8 April last year, the office of the officer was broken into. The safe in the office was open, the lock inside was missing and R19 600 had been stolen.
