Sparks to fly at Anfield

The pick of the matches in tomorrow’s TAB Soccer 10 carryover pool is the clash between EPL joint log-leaders Liverpool and Spurs and history favours the hosts, who have lost at home to Spurs only six times in their last 79 clashes

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur both missed their chance to take a clear lead in the English Premier League on Sunday, but that makes for an exciting shootout between them at Anfield tomorrow night.

Both clubs could now be three points clear of Leicester City at the summit of the EPL table, but first Spurs drew at Crystal Palace and then Liverpool were fortunate to get a share of the spoils with Fulham.

Instead they have a onepoint advantage and tomorrow sees them head to head at Anfield.

Jose Mourinho will surely have defence as his primary concern and look to keep up Spurs' record as the team with the tightest defence in the league this season.

Palace's late equaliser against them at Selhurst Park was only the 10th goal they have conceded in this campaign.

Liverpool will come with all guns blazing and whoever blinks first is going to lose. It is much too early to call this a title decider, but it is going to be an interesting harbinger of things to come.

All the major European leagues have midweek games now that the Champions League and Europa League have completed their group phase competition.

TAB Soccer 6 and 10 punters should be able to count on some big-name teams who have not been as consistent as previously but now look to be back on track - like Juventus and Real Madrid.
