FOMER PSL DEFENDER WINS MLS CUP IN USA

Former Free State Stars defender Jonathan Mensah captained his American club Columbus Crew to the MLS Cup on the weekend. Crew beat Seattle Sounders 3- 0 in the final of the Major League Soccer championship to win the title for only the second time in the 25-year history of the North American league. Ghana international Mensah left Stars in 2009 to play at Granada in Spain and then joined Evian in France and later Anzhi in Russia. He moved to the USA in 2017.
