Bucs boss staying put Rantie losing his faith

-

A call for Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer to be fired as head coach have suddenly been raised again on social media, following the team’s poor display in recent matches, but an insider at Bucs insists that there is no way JZ will be leaving the club anytime soon. Pirates fans have expressed their frustrations all over social media with some fans questioning his tactics. It seems like Bucs fans are not happy with the club’s showing, especially after their 2-0 loss to Black Leopards. “Fans will be fans, they have their own opinion. But we have to be realistic – just because a team hasn’t done well in the last few games, it doesn’t mean we have to fire the coach. Actually at Pirates things aren’t done like that, but we respect our supporters. Sometimes things won’t go our way,” said the source.

Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates striker Tokelo Rantie could end up hanging up his boots prematurely as his struggles to find a club continue. Just more than a month ago, the 30-year-old was rumoured to be on his way to join Eswatini giants, Mbabane Highlanders, but that deal fell through. “Any player would be frustrated if they went two years without kicking a ball. He had a chance at Sundowns and it was unfortunate that it ended before it could take off. We’ve spoken to him and he is looking at the possibility of hanging up his boots because nothing concrete is coming his way,” said a source close to the player. Rantie had a stint at Cape Town City where he was released without playing a match, while he failed to impress on trial at Bloemfontein Celtic last year.
